Our new tour to Ireland visits the west coast. We stay in the award-winning town of Westport on the edge of Clew Bay, surrounded by magnificent scenery. It is possibly the best place to holiday in Ireland offering fabulous picturesque views along with locals that provide a warm welcome.

Itinerary
Day 1
Early morning departure to Holyhead for the ferry to Dublin and to our overnight hotel.Day 2
We travel via Mullingar, Longford and Strokestown Park House, a 19th century estate containing the Irish National Famine Museum, to the Castlecourt Hotel in Westport where we stay for 3 nights.Day 3
Scenic day tour to Connemara for breath taking views of the islands and Croagh Patrick, Ireland’s Holy Mountain. Continue through the haunting beauty of the Doo Lough Valley, to the picturesque village of Leenane, overlooking Killary Harbour and at the start of Ireland’s only fjord. In the afternoon we visit Kylemore Abbey, a neo-gothic castle mirrored in its own lake, which was originally owned by a millionaire and is now run by Benedictine nuns.Day 4
Enjoy a full day excursion around Magical Mayo. Travel to the Foxford Woollen Mills where a self-guided tour recounts the amazing tale that brought a thriving woollen industry to the town. Follow the shores of Lough Conn and Lough Cullin onto Achill, Ireland’s largest island. This is a rugged, unspoilt and spectacular region of Ireland dominated by Slievemore Mountain that rises dramatically to the north.Day 5
From Westport we call in at the National Museum of Country Life, set in the grounds of Turlough Park House and surrounded by magnificent gardens. Complete the journey to Dublin for an overnight stay.Day 6
Morning ferry from Dublin to Holyhead, and then home.Hotel
