Day 1

Travel to hotel

Day 2

Devils bridge, Steam train & Aberystwyth

Through Welsh mountain countryside reaching the beauty spot of Devils Bridge, with unusual 18th century bridges crossing the famous gorge and waterfalls. Hop on the 1902 Vale of Rheidol steam train for a 12 mile scenic journey arriving in the seaside town of Aberystwyth with its brightly coloured Victorian seafront buildings, Free time to stroll the 1 mile long promenade,passing the beach, pier,marina & many shops and eateries.

Day 3

Snowdonia's National Park Coastline

First stop is Machynlleth, dating back to 1404,and briefly was the capital of Wales. A quaint market townwith boutique shops, town square with market day on a wednesday. Afterwards, along the shoreline of the Dovey Estuary to the pretty town of Trwyn. Board the train for the 30 minute scenic coastal journey crossing the estuary to Barmouth with free time in this attractive seaside resort with it expanse of sandy beach and panoramic views of Cardigan Bay.

Day 4

Brecon Beacons & Whisky Galore

Today we visit the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Brecon Beacons National Park. It has many of Wales' most impressive natural landscapes. At the Northern tip lies Brecon, from here we head into the park, passing ancient red sandston peaks. A guided tour and 2 tastings is included at the much acclaimed Penderyn Wisky Distillery. 

We snake our way over the forbidding black mountains before reaching Llandovery with its ruined castle.

Day 5

Return Home

Set in the centre of mid-Wales spa town of Llandrindod Wells, the Glen Usk Hotel has a spacious bar lounge, restaurant and sun patio overlooking Temple Gardens. There is free Wi-Fi in public areas of the building. The Glen Usk Hotel has a function room with a dance floor.
