Itinerary
Day 1
Morning departure from your local pickup point, we make our way to Wales calling at Shrewsbury on the way. The market town is crammed with independent boutiques and excellent eateries, and there are cobbled side streets with quaint buildings waiting to be explored. We arrive at the hotel late afternoon with time to settle in before this evening’s dinner.
Day 2
After a relaxing start to the day, we take a journey to Brecon Canal where we enjoy a 2.5-hour cruise along the historic waterway. We sail through a canal lock and over an aqueduct carrying the canal over the River Usk. We return to the hotel for some free time in Llandridod Wells.
Day 3
No visit to Wales would be complete without a train ride. We join the Vale of Rheidol Railway in Aberystwyth for a scenic journey through stunning Welsh countryside to Devil’s Bridge, nestled in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains. Known for its three-tiered bridges and dramatic landscapes, Devil’s Bridge is a must-see destination. After a stop at Devil’s Bridge the train returns to Aberystwyth. There will be free time to visit the Engine Shed museum at Aberystwyth station, and you can explore the seaside town at leisure too.

We head to Hereford where we visit the Cathedral for an included Mappa Mundi and Chained Library tour. See the world famous map, the largest surviving medieval map of the world, which contains thousands of drawings and inscriptions. Inside the Chained Library you will see manuscripts, some dating back to the 8th century, and over 1200 early printed books.
