In the run-up to Christmas, step back to the Victorian era and discover the origins of the festive traditions we know and love today. Be immersed in the sights, sounds and smells of the festive period 1800’s style! To add a magical touch to your break, we also include a factory tour of Wedgwood potteries with a scrumptious afternoon tea.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
Itinerary
Day 1
Join the coach at your local pickup point for a relaxing journey to Trentham Shopping Village. Set amongst beautiful timber lodges, you will find a mix of popular high street brands alongside independent stores offering gifts, homeware, fashion and more. For those who have green fingers, or enjoy others handywork, there are some award-winning gardens for you to explore (entry payable locally). Late afternoon we check into the hotel.
Day 2
Today we visit Blists Hill Victorian Town where you can experience life in 1900. Around the town, streets and buildings will be decked with traditional decorations. Soak up the festive atmosphere and learn about Christmas past from the costumed demonstrators.
Day 3
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and visit World of Wedgwood. Home to Stoke-on-Trent’s most prestigious brand, we go behind the scenes for a guided factory tour. See how Wedgwood is designed, created and crafted. Afterwards we include afternoon tea; a delightful array of sandwiches, freshly baked cakes, fancies and fluffy scones amongst other delicious treats, served on Wedgwood fine bone China. There will be free time to explore the V&A Wedgwood Collection and retail stores.
Please note the walking tours last approximately 45 minutes. There is no seating along the way. The route is wheelchair accessible.

Hilton Garden Inn Stoke-on-Trent
The hotel is located in Stoke-on-Trent, close to the Cultural Quarter, home to The Regent Theatre, Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, and Potteries Shopping Centre. Guest rooms have a modern design and all feature en suite, TV, tea/coffee making facilities, free WiFi and hairdryer. The hotel has a lift.
