These marvellous gardens have recently been awarded a Gold Accolade by Visit England, as well as several other prestigious awards, and they were certainly well-earned! With stunning Italian Gardens, Rivers of Grass and a Floral Labyrinth, as well as a lake and several beautiful show gardens, Trentham is a wonderful, even magical, place to explore, with plenty to see and discover.
In the late afternoon, you’ll re-join the coach and head to your hotel.
You’ll have a full day to experience the wonder of the Tatton Park Flower Show. With breath-taking show gardens, talks and demonstrations from famous faces and gardening experts, as well as the chance to buy some lovely flowers for your own garden, you’ll never be stuck for something to do! For the budding gardeners among us, the show offers the chance to sharpen your skills, with tips and tricks from professionals; meanwhile, anyone who simply likes wandering through gardens and marvelling at the colours and artistry will have a fine time exploring the award-winning gardens which have been designed and built especially for the show. And when you start to feel hungry, there are plenty of delicious options to choose from – with several beautiful lounges and even a Tea Conservatory, as well as food courts and vans.
In the late afternoon, you’ll re-join the coach for the journey home.
Located next door to Crewe Railway Station, the Crewe Arms is the world’s oldest railway hotel, built in 1830. Queen Victoria even stayed at the hotel with her family when she travelled up from London to Scotland for her annual summer holidays – there’s a tunnel where she used to walk to avoid having to interact with the populace. The hotel retains its historic charm, as well as stylish modern décor. Guest rooms include free Wi-Fi, TV and tea/coffee facilities, and have been designed with guest comfort in mind.
