Itinerary
Day 1
Join the coach at your local pickup point for a relaxing journey to Buxton. Nestled in the centre of the Peak District, the spa town is a treasure trove of things to see and do. The market will be on with a great range of stalls selling tasty treats, household goods, clothes, gifts and much more. We continue onwards to the hotel arriving in time for dinner.
Day 2
Today we have a full day in Shrewsbury. Tucked in the loop of the River Severn, this medieval market town is full of charm. The Tudor centre is home to quirky independent shops and beautiful bistros. Be sure to visit the Market Hall where you will find a unique mix of hand crafted gifts and mouth-watering delicacies. We include a 45 minute cruise with live commentary, tea/coffee and biscuits.
Day 3
Today we step back in time with a full day exploring the Valley of Invention. Home of the stunning Ironbridge Gorge UNESCO World Heritage Site, we begin at Blists Hill Victorian Town. Be transported back to 1900 and get a glimpse of a new world shaped by industry. Visit Victorian shops and cottages, meet craftspeople demonstrating their trades and taste authentic food in our recreated town. We will make a stop at the Iron Bridge for those wishing to walk across it and admire spectacular views of the Gorge. You can also visit the Tollhouse to learn about this magnificent monument’s history.
Day 4
After a leisurely breakfast we check out of the hotel and visit Chester. We have some free time to explore the olde worlde shops, medieval walkways and visit the fascinating Cathedral. Mid afternoon we continue our journey home.
