Itinerary
Day 1
Morning departure from your local pickup point, we make our way to Paignton. On arrival at the hotel we will be greeted with tea/coffee and mince pies. Settle into your room then join us for a pre-dinner cocktail and canapes before tonight’s dinner and entertainment.Day 2
Free day in Paignton. Afternoon tea/coffee and a sweet treat will be served in the hotel bar along with a festive quiz. In the evening is a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings.Day 3
You can’t get much more of a ‘traditional British seaside’ resort than the vibrant and cheerful town of Torquay. We return to the hotel in the afternoon for tea/coffee and cake. After an early dinner we have the highlight of the week; the Train of Lights! The enchanting journey aboard a vintage train travels along the English Riviera coastline through an enchanted forest with colourful displays, illuminated animals and elves, and breath-taking night-time scenery. The train will be decorated with thousands of sparkling lights, creating a magical atmosphere.Day 4
We begin the day at Buckfast Abbey with time to explore the Abbey Church and visitor centre. Home to a community of Roman Catholic Benedictine Monks, we get an insight into monastic life, from its origins to the present day. Onwards to Totnes, a fascinating historical town with a Norman castle overlooking the town. Tonight we celebrate New Year with a glass of fizz and a final night of entertainment.Day 5
After breakfast we bid farewell to our hosts and make our way home.Included
