Itinerary
Day 1
Meet the coach at your local pickup point for a relaxing journey to Newquay.
Day 2
After a day of travelling, today is a day of rest and relaxation. Take a stroll along the esplanade and soak up the stunning coastal views.
Day 3
Today we visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The once forgotten gardens have been lovingly transformed into a horticultural paradise. See the Victorian Productive Gardens where over 300 varieties of crops are grown and the Pleasure Grounds with winding paths lined by magnificent blooms. Lose yourself in The Jungle, a sub-topical adventure with bamboo tunnels, majestic tree ferns, giant rhubarb and bananas flourish before your eyes. We will include a stop in the nearby Mevagissey. This traditional fishing town has a cluster of picture postcard style cafes, galleries and shops surrounding the harbour.
Day 4
Experience the golden age of rail travel on today’s outing. We join Bodmin Railway for a nostalgic train journey with scenic views. The remainder of the day is in Port Isaac. Those who have seen the TV series Doc Martin will recognise the village as Port Wenn. The quintessential fishing village is known for its narrow, winding streets, whitewashed cottages and picturesque harbour. Sample the local seafood and browse the souvenir shops.
Day 5
Today we visit the bustling harbour town of Padstow. Here you will find a picturesque port set amidst stunning beaches. The town has become a must visit foodie destination with a tempting mix of cafés, bistros, tapas bars, cosy tearooms, and welcoming pubs scattered around the harbour. Sitting on a hill above the town is Prideaux Place. The grand Elizabethan manor has been home to the same family for over four centuries. Take a tour of the house or stroll in the tranquil grounds overlooking the ancient deer park.
Day 6
Today we venture into Cornwall’s only city, Truro. The crown jewel of Truro is the magnificent Cathedral with three spires dominating the skyline and an impressive interior. Don’t miss your chance to climb the tower for panoramic views of the city. Feeling hungry? There are no shortage of eateries with tempting traditional Cornish pastries and homemade ice cream.
Day 7
After breakfast, we bid farewell to the hotel and make our way home with fond memories of our Cornish adventure.
