Our brand new tour exploring the North East is not one to be missed as we visit beautiful historical towns and cities, we even include a Grey Seal Cruise and a visit to Bamburgh Castle.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
Itinerary
Day 1
Morning departure from your local pickup point to the city of Durham, named one of Britain’s most beautiful Cities. During your free time you may choose to visit the historic Durham Cathedral and Castle, a well known and adored UNESCO heritage site. Durham is full to the brim with wonderful gardens and parks to explore and enjoy, such as the Crook Hall Gardens, or maybe you’d prefer to take a stroll along the river walk with plenty of bars and cafes to tempt you along the way! We rejoin the coach late afternoon to make our way to the check in desk at the hotel.
Day 2
After a leisurely breakfast, relax and set the day at your own pace with a free day in Newcastle. If you decide to explore this incredible city and all it has to offer or prefer to settle into a cosy corner and put your feet up – the choice is yours to enjoy!
Day 3
Today we have an excursion to Cragside, Britain’s original ‘smart home’. Delve into the science and engineering behind how William Armstrong harnessed the force of water, experience the changing seasons at the Formal Garden, find a picnic bench to witness the views over the Coquet Valley below and meander along the rocky paths in the impressive garden that surrounds the House.
Day 4
After breakfast, join us on an exciting trip to Seahouses Harbour where we take a 90 minute cruise to see the colony of Grey Seals! We sail around the islands with commentary throughout; viewing the Grey Seals at several vantage points as well as the thousands of birds that nest at the Farne Islands, including one of our favourites, the Puffins. There are an estimated 3 to 4 thousand Grey Seals at the Farne Islands and large numbers can be counted basking on the rocks, especially at low water when more of the Islands are exposed. Afterwards, we make the short journey to Bamburgh Castle.
Day 5
Today we head to the lovely city of Ripon for some relaxing free time before the journey home.
