Our new summer tour takes in the tranquil beauty of the Lake District, a splendid canal cruise with lunch and the traditional seaside resort of Southport.PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
Itinerary
Day 1
Meet the coach at your local pick up point for a relaxing journey to Skipton. Here you will have free time for lunch, shopping and sightseeing. Later, we continue to the hotel.
Day 2
We start with a visit to Barton Grange Garden Centre for some free time before a delightful cruise through the North Lancashire countryside. During the cruise we will be served a selection of sandwiches, a fruit scone filled with butter, jam and fresh cream, and tea/coffee.
Day 3
Taking a scenic journey into the Lake District, we visit Bowness-on-Windermere. Here you will have time to explore the thriving town, home to hundreds of shops, bistros and attractions. After some free time, we make our way to the pier for a relaxing cruise to Lakeside. At Lakeside we board the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway to Haverthwaite station where the coach will be waiting to take us back to the hotel.
Day 4
Full day in Southport. Southport Pier is the second longest and oldest iron pier in England, and a walk to the end or a trip on the pier tram offers views across to Blackpool and the North Wales coast. Stroll along famous Lord Street, with its iron canopies and a more unusual attraction; the British Lawnmower Museum – why not visit the only museum of its kind in the world whilst you’re there?
Day 5
After checking out of the hotel, we make our way to Haworth. This quaint village is steeped in literary history made famous by the Bronte sisters compelling novels. There are plenty of sites, unique shops and cosy cafes to discover before heading home.
