Banish away those winter blues on a short break to the Lake District. Enjoy the spectacular views of England’s largest National Park, with high mountains and deep lakes. Our base is the pretty village of Shap situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park.

Itinerary

Day 1

Morning departure from your local pickup point to the market town of Bedale for a short stop before continuing onto Shap where we stay for 3 nights.

Day 2

Today we take a journey through the Lake District starting in Windermere. Lake Windermere is the largest natural lake in England and is an excellent centre for boating activities. We then continue onto Ambleside for the afternoon.

Day 3

We begin the day in Keswick nestled between the Skiddaw Mountains and Derwentwater Lake. In the afternoon we make a short stop in Grasmere on the return to the hotel.

Day 4

This morning we check out of the hotel and enjoy a scenic journey to Kendal at the south of the Lake District for some time at leisure. We then continue to Skipton for the afternoon before returning home.

Shap Wells Hotel

The hotel is situated in a secluded wooded valley, high in the Shap Fells and surrounded by mountain streams. Red squirrels, red deer and other wildlife can often be seen in the grounds of the hotel and beyond. The guest rooms have recently been refurbished and are equipped with en suite, TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.

Prices

The price shown is per person based on two adults sharing a twin/double room.

Child (12 years and under) prices are based on sharing with two full fare paying passengers. Therefore, if one adult and one child share a room the child will pay the adult price.

Any bookings made on-line where the child prices are not showing correctly, will be amended and a revised confirmation sent.
