Itinerary

Day 1

Morning departure to Ripon where we have some free time. This thriving little city has plenty to offer with a magnificent cathedral and a bustling market square surrounded by quaint streets and ‘snickets’ crammed with independent and well-known shops.  Onwards to Durham where we stay for 2 nights.

Day 2

Full day at leisure. The hotel has an excellent position in the centre of the city with many of the attractions just a short walk away. Durham City is home to one of the most recognisable landmarks in the UK, majestic Durham Cathedral. Together with adjacent Durham Castle, this UNESCO World Heritage Site forms one of the most stunning city panoramas in Europe and well worth a visit.

Day 3

After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and make our way to Beamish. The open air museum brings the history of North East England to life at its 1820s Pockerley, 1900s Town, 1900s Pit Village, 1940s Farm, 1950s Town and 1950s Spain’s Field Farm exhibit areas. Watch delicious bread, cakes and biscuits being made using Edwardian recipes. Why not treat yourself to a freshly-baked treat to take home?
