What do you do when you have 200 fully-working Napoleonic cannons just lying about? You play Beethoven’s ‘Battle Symphony’ as it was intended of course – with 193 cannons providing the thunderous percussion! And so, the Battle Proms were born; a unique series of events hosted by some of the best stately homes in the country! Join us for a short break which includes an evening at one of these fabulously British events!
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
After a morning departure from your local pick-up point you’ll head to Royal Leamington Spa; the town was little more than a tiny, out-of-the-way village until 1800 when a mineral spring was discovered and baths were built around them. The town quickly grew, and in 1814 the Royal Pump Room and Baths were built.
You’ll spend the morning and early afternoon in Stratford-upon-Avon before heading back to the hotel for an early dinner. In the evening, you’ll head to Ragely Hall for the Battle Proms; with a Napoleonic Cavalry Charge, an excellent musical program and a flying display from vintage aircraft, there’s so much to keep you fully entertained at this awe-inspiring event!
After checking out of the hotel, you’ll spend the morning in Warwick before re-joining the coach for the journey home.
