Steam through storied grandeur, royal treasure and a railway adventure in The Weald of Kent. Not only do we visit two of the best houses in Kent, but we also have tours of them including food! We also experience a ride on the Kent & Sussex Railway, through the rolling hills of the High Weald Countryside. Plus, we visit Dover Castle with spectacular views across the channel at one of the oldest Norman Fortresses in England.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.

ItineraryThursday We travel to Kent with a lunch break in Guildford.
Tours whilst at resort
A | To Penshurst Place where we have VIP house and garden tour with the head guide. It is a mediaeval masterpiece with walls adorned with treasure. The house is complemented by the historic formal gardens and grounds that were once hunted by Henry VIII. (On our July date, we are also treated to a hot drink and cake in restaurant.) We also visit Royal Turnbridge Wells.
B | Unlock Dover Castle, the enduring ‘Key to England, standing guard across the turbulent English Channel. There is 2,000 years of history from a Roman Lighthouse, through to wartime tunnels
used in WWII. We also visit Deal, a unique and special place classed as the prettiest seaside town in Kent.
C | Hole Park is known as one of the Seven Wonders of the Weald and is one of England’s best kept secrets. There are formal gardens and all with views of the surrounding, rolling hills and woods. We have a garden tour and enjoy a light lunch. Later a fifty-minute each way return journey on the Kent & East Sussex Railway from Tenterden to Bodiam. This is one of the finest examples of rural light rail and boasts superb views.
Monday We return home with a stop in Windsor.
