Based in Shanklin | 3-star Victorian hotel and a visit to Osborne House!
Our hotel is an elegant 3-star set in mature grounds a few minutes’ walk from the ‘old village’ area of Shanklin. It is uniquely located on an elevated position with costal vistas and views of the Luccombe Downs. In the run up to Christmas it is decorated with garlands, cinnamon, and bunches of holly. A highlight of the holiday is a visit to Osborne House, former home of Queen Victoria.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
Itinerary
Itinerary
Monday To Portsmouth and free time at Gunwharf Quay before we make the crossing to the Isle of Wight. Then on to our hotel and tea and mince pies on arrival.
Tours whilst at resort
A | We view the magnificent coastal scenery along the south of the island as we travel to Alum Bay overlooking the Needles. We also make stops in the harbour town of Yarmouth and Godshill, a very picturesque village with its cluster of thatched cottages.
B | A free day to explore Shanklin or join the coach for an afternoon visit to nearby Ryde. Ryde is the largest town on the Island and in addition to an expanse of sandy beaches, which stretch right along the town, it has a great selection of boutique shops, museums, and galleries.
C | We visit Osborne House and later make a short stop in West Cowes, a pretty little town with plenty of shopping and yachts galore!
Friday We return home via the ferry to Portsmouth.
