Some are linked by causeways, while others are reached by scenic ferry crossings, offering ever‑changing views of dramatic coastlines and open sea. There are also magnificent mainland vistas as we travel north through the Highlands, and on our return journey we pass through Glencoe, enjoying views of Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain. We also enjoy a relaxing two‑night stay in Stirling, allowing time to explore this compact city steeped in history, all from the comfort of a centrally located 4‑star hotel.

Itinerary
FRIDAY We travel north into Scotland and check in for a two‑night stay at the 4‑star Highland Hotel in Stirling.
SATURDAY A free day to explore Stirling, a small city with a remarkably rich past. Highlights include historic landmarks, attractive scenery, excellent shopping, and a wide choice of places to eat. The famous Stirling Castle, with its impressive architecture and beautifully landscaped gardens, is just a short walk from the hotel (entry not included).
SUNDAY A day of superb scenery as we travel through the Highlands, Cairngorms, and Speyside, arriving in Inverness for a lunchtime stop. Known as the Capital of the Highlands, Inverness lies on the banks of the River Ness and offers historic buildings and independent shops. We continue on amid loch and mountain views to Ullapool, where we board our late‑afternoon ferry to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. Our base for the next two nights is the Caladh Inn.
MONDAY A guided tour of the Isle of Lewis with a local guide. We enjoy outstanding scenery alongside visits to a traditional Blackhouse—remarkably still lived in until recent times—the iconic Callanish Standing Stones, often referred to as Scotland’s Stonehenge, and the impressive historic Broch of Carloway.
TUESDAY A day of island‑hopping as we travel south through Lewis and Harris, where stunning white‑sand beaches and dramatic landscapes accompany us throughout the day. We cross by ferry to the Isle of Benbecula, checking in for a two‑night stay at the Dark Island Hotel in Liniclate. On a summer evening, you may enjoy a peaceful walk near the hotel while listening for lapwings, oystercatchers, and the elusive corncrake.
WEDNESDAY With a local guide on board, we tour Benbecula and South Uist, learning about the islands’ heritage and their links with Bonnie Prince Charlie, set against a backdrop of wide beaches, moorland, and Atlantic views.
THURSDAY A long but tremendously rewarding day. We take the ferry from Lochmaddy to Uig on the Isle of Skye, before enjoying a spectacular scenic drive across Skye. Crossing the Skye Bridge, we return to the mainland, with views of Ben Nevis and a memorable journey through Glencoe. Our overnight stop is at the Rob Roy Hotel in Aberfoyle.
FRIDAY Our Scottish island odyssey comes to an end as we travel south and return home.
