Itinerary

Itinerary

Monday Our journey begins with a scenic drive past the Malvern Hills before we pause for a lunchtime stop in the historic cathedral city of Hereford. We continue through the rolling landscapes of the Shropshire Hills to reach our hotel, where a hot drink awaits

Tuesday Today we visit the renowned county town of Shrewsbury, beautifully set within a sweeping loop of the River Severn and famous for its higgledy‑piggledy streets and half‑timbered buildings. We start with a relaxing river cruise, followed by lunch at the Orchard Café, located within a church, where a warming bowl of soup, a filled roll and a hot drink are included. The afternoon is free for you to explore Shrewsbury at your leisure—perhaps browsing independent shops, or simply soaking up the town’s historic atmosphere.

Wednesday Our first stop is Blists Hill Victorian Town, where costumed staff bring the past to life with fascinating demonstrations of everyday Victorian living. The site also features a state‑of‑the‑art visitor centre and a charming narrow‑gauge railway. Later, we travel to the Ironbridge Gorge, recently voted the UK’s most popular UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Thursday We enjoy a scenic drive through the wooded slopes of Wenlock Edge en route to Stokesay Castle, one of England’s finest and best‑preserved fortified manor houses. Set against the rolling Shropshire countryside, it offers both historical intrigue and wonderful views. We then continue to Ludlow, a thriving medieval market town and true architectural gem, where you will have time to explore its historic streets.

Friday Our final day begins with a visit to Bridgnorth, where there is free time to explore this attractive riverside town. We then travel on to Worcester, stopping to enjoy this ancient city steeped in history, before beginning our journey home.
