Itinerary
Monday We pass the Malvern Hills and make a lunch time stop in the city of Hereford. From here we continue through the Shropshire Hills to our hotel, where we are met with a hot drink.Tuesday To the famous city of Shrewsbury, the county town of Shropshire with higgledy-piggledy streets set in a loop in the River Severn. First, we have a cruise which is followed by some soup, a
filled roll and a hot drink at the Orchard Café which is based in a church. In the afternoon there is free time to explore Shrewsbury.
Wednesday Our first stop of the day is at Blists Hill Victorian Town where costumed staff give a fascinating insight into how life was lived in Victorian times, there is a state-of-the-art visitors centre and narrow-gauge railway. Later, we visit Ironbridge Gorge, recently voted the most popular UNESCO World Heritage Site in the UK, where there are more museums that our entry ticket is also valid for.
Thursday We enjoy a scenic drive via the woods of Wenlock Edge to Stokesay Castle, one of the finest and best-preserved fortified manor houses in England. It also has stunning views of the beautiful Shropshire countryside. Then to Ludlow, a thriving medieval market town that is an architectural gem.
Friday To Bridgnorth for free time before we continue to Worcester, for a stop in this ancient city, before returning home.
