This seaside resort comes with the classic English seaside holiday activities: the donkey rides on the beach, the pier, the crazy golf, but there’s more to this Lincolnshire town. ‘Skeggy’, as it’s affectionately known, has rollercoaster rides and a seal sanctuary plus a Blue Flag beach. We enjoy a day out in Lincoln, view the Wolds, a nationally important and cherished landscape, and get to see a Lancashire Bomber!

MONDAY We head to calling at Stamford, an ancient town of mellow stone and full of old world charm. Middlemarch was filmed here.
TOURS AT RESORT
A | We visit the nearby Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Museum where you can experience the largest Bomber Command Museum in the country and there is also a Lancaster Bomber on site. There is also an exhibition based on all the parts of a WWII Bomber Command Airfield. We return to Skegness for free time in the afternoon.
B | We make a morning stop at Woodthorpe Garden Centre, one of the first Garden Centres in the UK and has a fantastic range of plants plus gifts and homewear, plus a café! Then Into the Wolds and we make a stop in Louth, (on Wednesday it is Market Day). Louth is known as the capital of the Wolds and is an attractive Georgian town with plenty of character and independent shops and cafes. We return home via the A153 across the Wolds.
C | All-day in Lincoln, a lovely city, overlooked by its cathedral and where cobbled streets are lined by mediaeval houses. On our way we travel via Horncastle and skirt the edge of the Wolds.
FRIDAY Homeward bound, we stop at Melton Mowbray, famous for its pork pies, Stilton cheese, and with gardens alongside the river.
