Experience delights of local renown and family dynasties as they create intrigue on this Ribble Valley Voyage. We have three varied days out in resort, at Leighton Hall we have exclusive access to a ‘treasure chest of history’ at the seat of the world-renowned Gillow family, of furniture fame. At Samlesbury Hall we have a private tour of the beautiful historic home. Finally, Dewlay Cheesemakers have a reputation for producing the very best of Lancashire cheese and we have a tour and of course tasting! The hotel provides a glass of wine with dinner on the last evening.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.

ItineraryMonday We travel north with a lunch time stop at Trentham Shopping Centre. The hotel welcomes us with tea and cake.
Tours whilst at resort
A | To Leighton Hall, set in 450 acres of woodland. We have unlimited access with enthusiastic guides who have many tales to tell about the family vaults and unusual furniture and paintings on display. You can also explore the gardens and woodland walks if you would like. On our return we spend time in Morecambe with wonderful views across the bay to the Lake District.
B | Into the Ribble Valley and we visit Samlesbury Hall for a private tour where we enjoy intrigue, witchcraft and centuries of fascinating history as we travel through the rooms of this stunning stately home. There is also a Victorian kitchen, schoolroom and 1950s bedroom. We follow the Ribble Valley and skirt the edges of the Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland to our late lunchtime stop in Kirkby Lonsdale, a picturesque market town.
C | Dewlay Cheesemakers, run by its third-generation owners, continue to produce award-winning cheese using the same traditional methods their grandfather used in the 1950s. Witness the curdling, cutting, and packing in action during a guided tour, discovering the history of Dewlay, and its effect on Lancashire, before indulging in a tutored tasting of the broad range of cheeses produced. A choice in the afternoon between returning to our hotel or being dropped in Blackpool for a few hours to explore.
Friday We return home with a stop at the famous Bury Market, previously voted the best market in the UK.
