6 Days | Full-day on Orkney with local guide and the Castle of Mey!
Embark on a spectacular adventure to the northernmost reaches of the Scottish Highlands, including a full day exploring the mystical Orkney Islands. Just six miles off the mainland, Orkney is a captivating archipelago of 70 islands steeped in ancient history and natural beauty. While in the Far North, we enjoy another highlight: a visit to the Castle & Gardens of Mey, the beloved former home of the Queen Mother, followed by time at the iconic John O’Groats. Our scenic journey through Scotland takes us along two different Highland routes—northbound via Aviemore, and southbound through the majestic landscapes near Balmoral.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.

ItinerarySunday We begin our adventure in to Scotland and on to Blairgowrie, where we settle in for the night at the welcoming 3-star Angus Hotel.
Monday A day of glorious Highland scenery as we travel north through the Cairngorms National Park, with a stop in the charming town of Aviemore and a short break in Tain. We then continue to Thurso, our base for the next three nights.
Tuesday We board the ferry from Scabster to Stromess, arriving on the Orkney Islands for a full day of exploration with a local guide. Highlights include the Neolithic village of Skara Brae, the Ring of Brodgar, the Italian Chapel, and the haunting remains of battleships at Scapa Flow. We also visit Kirkwall, with its magnificent St. Magnus Cathedral, before returning to the mainland by early evening.
Wednesday A more relaxed day begins with a visit to the Castle and Gardens of Mey, the beloved former home of the Queen Mother. We then continue to the iconic John O’Groats, and on to Dunnet Head, the true northernmost point of mainland Britain, offering stunning views back toward Orkney.
Thursday We journey south via a different Highland route, with stops in Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, and Braemar, famed for its royal connections and the annual Highland Games.
We return to the Angus Hotel for our final overnight stay.
Friday After a memorable week of discovery, we begin our journey home, filled with unforgettable memories of Scotland’s far north.
