We also visit nearby Luxembourg including a tasting at a winery. This was a new tour in 2024 and was a huge success!

Itinerary
Monday To France and on to Germany and our base on the banks of the Moselle River.Tuesday We head to Trier so we can explore this fascinating city with a treasure trove of well-preserved Roman structures, including the spectacular Roman City Gates, the grand St. Peter’s Cathedral and the Aula Palatina, a Roman basilica. All together there are eight UNESCO world heritage sites in total in this small city plus a large market square.
Wednesday To the pretty riverside town of Cochem, from where we enjoy a one-hour circular cruise on the Moselle. Enjoying views of Reichsburg Castle and the surrounding vineyards. We are free to explore Cochem after the cruise, it has an old town with quaint streets, winding alleys, and half-timbered buildings.
Thursday Luxembourg City is a vibrant place, and we have free time to explore the small, laid-back green centre. The Palace where the Grand Duke lives is right in the centre as well as the 17th century Notre-Dame cathedral. On our return we stop at Bernard-Massard Winery, who have been producing wines for over 100 years and are Luxembourg’s biggest winery, for a talk and taste of two wines.
Friday We return home.
