The beautiful county of Kent, often referred to as the Garden of England, is blessed with rolling countryside, historic towns, and a stunning coastline. This delightful tour features visits to the majestic Leeds Castle, the charming seaside town of Broadstairs, and a behind-the-scenes look at the filming location of Call the Midwife in historic Chatham Dockyard.PLEASE NOTE: We are pleased to offer this tour in collaboration with our Coach Travel Group members JH & Coatham Coaches. Monday We arrive at the welcoming Bridgewood Manor Hotel. Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be served on arrival.
Tuesday We enjoy a scenic drive through the Kent Downs to the charming coastal town of Broadstairs. Perched above a picturesque harbour and flanked by dramatic cliffs, Broadstairs also boasts seven beautiful sandy bays. In the afternoon, we continue to Whitstable, a town known for its maritime heritage, vibrant arts scene, and world-famous oysters. Stroll along the seafront, explore the independent shops, and soak in the town’s unique character.
Wednesday This morning, we visit the historic town of Rochester, home to a magnificent cathedral, an imposing Norman castle, and a charming High Street lined with independent shops. After time to explore and enjoy lunch, we head to the spectacular Leeds Castle. Leeds Castle has over 900 years of history. Discover its lavish interiors, period architecture, and beautiful gardens as you explore one of England’s most romantic castles.
Thursday After a leisurely breakfast, we visit the Historic Dockyard Chatham, a fascinating maritime heritage site and filming location for the beloved TV series Call the Midwife. Enjoy a themed guided tour and explore the Call the Midwife Exhibition, followed by free time to discover the dockyard’s historic buildings, warships, dry docks and museums.
Friday After breakfast, we begin our journey home, filled with memories of Kent’s rich history, coastal charm, and cultural treasures.
