Monday We travel north to Heysham to board the ferry for a scenic three-and-a-half-hour crossing to the Isle of Man, setting the tone for a week of discovery and nostalgia.Tuesday Our day begins with a visit to the Old House of Keys in Castletown, the former seat of the Manx Parliament, where we take a seat in the beautifully restored debating chamber. We then enjoy views of the Calf of Man—keep an eye out for seals! On our way to Port Erin, for free time to explore its crystal-clear waters and charming surroundings. This is followed by a visit to the Port Erin Railway Museum before a memorable hour-long journey on the Isle of Man Steam Railway, a Victorian marvel described as “perfectly frozen in time,” returning us to Douglas.
Wednesday We begin with a scenic circular tour of the island, stopping in Ramsey, a lively town with a bustling shopping street, harbour, and beach. In the afternoon, enjoy a nostalgic ride along Douglas’s seafront aboard a Bay Horse Tram, operating since 1876. Your open ticket lets you choose your preferred time for this timeless experience.
Thursday Today we board the Manx Electric Railway from Douglas to Laxey, travelling in original Victorian and Edwardian carriages. From Laxey, we transfer to the Snaefell Mountain Railway for a 30-minute ascent to the summit, offering breathtaking views of Laxey Glens and the surrounding countryside. We return via the same scenic route, completing a day of vintage travel and panoramic beauty.
Friday We bid farewell to the Isle of Man and make our way back to the mainland, bringing home memories of a truly unique and heritage-rich holiday.
