Monday We travel north to our hotel, with a lunchtime stop in Shrewsbury, a historic town known for its timber-framed buildings, winding medieval streets, and riverside charm.Tuesday Today we visit the impressive Lancaster Castle, perched on a hilltop in the city centre, where three Roman forts once stood. A guided tour reveals its fascinating past, including tales of
crime and punishment. After the tour, enjoy free time to explore Lancaster at your leisure before returning to the hotel for dinner.
Wednesday This morning we head to Lytham Hall, an elegant 18th-century Georgian house and the finest of its kind in Lancashire. Once home to the colourful Clifton family, the hall’s history includes intrigue and conspiracy during the Lancashire plot to restore James II. Our guided tour showcases exquisite plasterwork, Gillow furniture, and historic paintings. Afterwards, enjoy time to explore the surrounding mature parkland. In the afternoon, relax and enjoy Lytham St Annes.
Thursday No visit to Lancashire is complete without experiencing Blackpool, the UK’s most iconic seaside resort. A highlight of the day is a visit to the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, where you’ll enjoy live music from the Mighty Wurlitzer and a delightful Afternoon Tea Experience in this grand and historic setting. The rest of the day is yours to explore Blackpool at your own pace.
Friday We begin our journey home with a stop at the Trentham Shopping Centre, offering a mix of shops, cafés, and scenic garden walks—perfect for a relaxing break before continuing south.
