Itinerary updated (Day C) - 16/01/2026Monday We journey into East Anglia with a lunchtime stop in Ely, a charming city known for its stunning cathedral and riverside beauty. Upon arrival at the hotel, we’re welcomed with tea and biscuits.
Tours at Resort
A | Today we explore Britain’s Magical Waterland. We begin with a nostalgic 45-minute steam train ride on the Bure Valley Railway, travelling from Aylsham to Wroxham through unspoilt countryside and quaint villages. After free time for lunch, we head to Horning to board a Mississippi Paddle Steamer for a 90-minute cruise. We will glide under 17 bridges, past thatched cottages, windmills, and reed beds teeming with wildlife.
B | Spend the day at the breathtaking Blickling Estate, a Jacobean masterpiece set within 4,600 acres of Norfolk countryside. Discover the legacy of Philip Kerr, the estate’s last private owner and a key figure in the National Trust’s history. Explore its WWII RAF connections, stroll through 300-year-old formal gardens, and learn about the estate’s role in the Trust’s 20 million tree planting initiative.
C | At Holkham Safari we will have trailer journey around the deer park with a knowledgeable guide. There will also be entry included to the Walled Garden, a 6-acre spectacular show of Georgian and Victorian greenhouses and vineries, a formal ornamental garden and a working kitchen. A light lunch and refreshments will also be enjoyed.
Friday We return home with a lunchtime stop in Saffron Walden, a delightful medieval market town full of character.
