Itinerary
Monday We begin our journey north with a lunchtime break in Bakewell, set amidst the stunning scenery of the Peak District. Enjoy the views and perhaps sample the town’s famous pudding before continuing to our hotel.
Tuesday In the morning, we enjoy a 45-minute river cruise, offering a unique perspective of the city’s landmarks from the water. The remainder of the day is youurs to explore York’s rich heritage, vibrant shops, and cultural attractions.
Wednesday We head to Pickering, a delightful market town, before boarding the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a scenic steam journey all the way to Whitby. With its vintage locomotives, charming rural stations, and smartly dressed staff, it’s a nostalgic experience. The afternoon is spent in Whitby, a historic maritime town with winding streets and unique shops. We return via Scarborough, completing a picturesque circular tour.
Thursday Today we visit the magnificent Castle Howard, one of Britain’s most iconic stately homes. Take your time to explore its theatrical architecture and beautifully landscaped gardens. On our return, we stop in the market town of Thirsk, nestled in the Yorkshire Moors, adding a scenic touch to the day’s round trip.
Friday We begin our journey home with a lunchtime stop in Melton Mowbray, famed for its pork pies and Stilton cheese. Enjoy a stroll through the riverside gardens or browse the local shops before continuing home.
