Harrogate is a great base for Yorkshire which has many moods; it can be wild and windswept or quietly tranquil, with outstanding scenery, and gardens. It is always inspiring and famous for its magnificent country houses, traditional towns, and authors such as James Herriot. A huge success in 2024 when this tour operated for the first time.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.

Itinerary
Monday Up the east side of the county and we make a stop in Bakewell, idyllically situated on the banks of the river Wye and famous for its puddings. We are met at the hotel with a hot drink.
Tuesday The morning is free to explore Harrogate, famous for many things including Betty’s Tea Rooms! In the afternoon we visit nearby RHS Harlow Carr Garden, specially designed to reflect the Yorkshire landscape, dominated by stone, water and woodland.
Wednesday To the market town of Thirsk and we step inside the ‘World of James Herriot’ and we can see where the famous vet lived, worked and wrote books including All Creatures Great and
Small. We also have time to explore the cobbled streets of the town. We also visit Ripon with its magnificent cathedral.
Thursday All day at Harewood House set in over 100 acres of gardens with plants from all over the world in a landscape created by Capability Brown. We can also spend time inside the house and
learn about life above and below stairs.
Friday We head home on a different route and cross the Southern Pennines for an early lunch time stop in Hebden Bridge. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, this market town has been voted ‘greatest town in Europe’ and was used for scenes in the TV show Happy Valley.
