Monday
We depart and make our way to Kentand arriving in the afternoon at our hotel forthe next 4 nights stay with dinner, bed andbreakfast.

Tuesday
For our first visit today we head forStaplehurst and Hush Heath Estate andvineyards where we enjoy a guided tour andlearn all aspects of grape growing before visitingthe winery where the production process of stilland sparkling wine is explained. We finish with atutored tasting of six Hush Heath Estate winesand ciders. Leaving the vineyard we enjoy aploughmans lunch at the Goudhurst Inn beforevisiting Winterdale Cheese Farm for a guidedtour of the dairy and cave followed by cheesetasting and cream.

Wednesday
This morning we head for the landof mysterious marshes and smugglers where wefirst visit New Romney where the Great Storm of1287 changed the course of the River Rotherand made New Romney an inland town. Next wearrive at Lydd, notorious for the activities of‘owlers’ (Local smugglers hooting to each otherat dead of night). As we head inland we pass thetower of St Mildred’s Church at Tenterden.Horatio, Lord Nelson’s daughter by his mistressEmma Hamilton, was at one time the vicar’swife. Known as the ‘Jewel in the Weald’ the townmakes an ideal place to finish the day.

Thursday
We begin with a ride to historicFaversham which nestles between the gentlysloping Downs and the austere North Kentmarshes and is one of southern England’s mostcharming towns. It now has over 475 listedbuildings and a good selection of independentshops. We have time for lunch here before weleave for our afternoon visit to the ShepherdNeame Brewery for a guided ‘behind the scenes’tour. Afterwards we round off the visit with HopPickers Afternoon Tea.

Friday
After breakfast we leave and begin ourhomeward journey.
