Monday
We depart and make our way toCopdock, arriving late afternoon at our hotel forthe next 4 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast.
Tuesday
We begin with a short drive into Ipswichwhere we visit Christchurch Park and Mansion,which houses artworks by Constable andGainsborough and the afternoon is then free foryou to explore and discover Ipswich
Wednesday
Today we head north toSaxmundham where we enjoy a visit to theexcellent RSPB Nature reserve at Minsmere todiscover some of the UK’s rarest wildlife. Choosean idyllic walk or head to the coastal lagoons tosee an impressive variety of birds and if you arelucky you may see an otter around the reedbeds.The café offers you the opportunity to obtainrefreshments and later we have a short drive toFramlingham Castle where we explore over 800years in the life of the castle, with tales ofbaronial disputes against the throne and the ives of those who lived around here from theambitious Howard family to Bloody Mary Tudorand the paupers in the 17th century workhouse.
Thursday
For our final day out we head first forthe historic town of Lavenham with prettycoloured houses and its unique Guildhall and wealso have time to explore or enjoy a coffee beforewe travel on to Stowmarket. This small markettown is ideal for our lunch stop and this afternoonwe have a visit to delightful Helmingham HallGardens famous for its Grade I listed gardens,with a 400 acre deer park surrounding themoated Tudor Hall. The walled kitchen garden,the rose & knot and herb and wild gardens arefascinating and the Coach House tea-rooms andStable Shops are ideal places to end the visit.
Friday
After breakfast we depart and head forhome.
