Thursday
We depart and make our way to WestYorkshire and our hotel for the next 4 nightswith dinner, bed and breakfast.

Friday
This morning we begin with a drive to thepleasant North Yorkshire market town of Settle,where we take a break to look around before weenjoy a ride on the Settle and Carlisle Railway,considered to be one of England’s most scenicrail journeys. We join the diesel train for thejourney, passing through spectacular scenery,crossing the famous Ribblehead viaduct andstopping at Dent, the highest mainline station inEngland. We re-join the coach for the shortjourney into Hawes, before continuing alongWensleydale, past Leyburn for our final visittoday to the city of Ripon, with its magnificentcathedral.

Saturday
Today we head off along the AireValley to Skipton – ‘Gateway to the Dales’. Themain street houses the well-known market, andSkipton castle stands proudly at the top of thestreet. Whilst here we enjoy a river cruise on oneof the country’s best-known inland waterways.From Skipton we make our way to Haworth,home of the famous Bronte sisters and theirnotorious brother. Later we enjoy a steam trainride along the delightful Worth Valley, followingthe locations used in the film ‘The RailwayChildren’.

Sunday
Our travels today begin with a visit toBolton Abbey set in a beautiful and tranquillocation alongside the River Wharfe, surroundedby moorland, woodland and riverside. We thenmake the short journey to Bolton Abbey stationfor a ride on the steam train to Embsay.Continuing through beautiful Dales scenery wevisit the Dales village of Grassington with itscobbled street, diminutive market place and itsmany quaint byways and alleyways.

Monday
After breakfast we depart for home.
