We depart and make our way toNorthumbria, arriving late afternoon at ourhotel for the next 4 nights with dinner, bed andbreakfast and tea/coffee and biscuits are servedon arrival.
This morning we visit TynemouthPriory which contains a 13th century chapel, aswell as WW2 gun battery. You can obtain lunchin Tynemouth after, taking in local cuisine andshopping. This afternoon we visit SeatonDeleval Hall where you can stroll around itsgardens or see its dramatic halls before we finishoff the day with a short drive along the coast toBlyth Beach where you could stop for tea, coffeeor ice cream by the sea.
We start with a short drive toNorthumberlandia, home of ‘The Lady of theNorth’, a stunning human landform sculpture ofa lady, standing 100 ft in height and spanning a1/4 of a mile. We then travel to Morpeth whereyou can visit its weekly Wednesday market andexplore the historic market town. Later we stopat Woodhorn Museum a 19th-century coal minenow a museum and heritage centre.
Today we head north via WalkworthCastle to Alnwick where you can obtain lunchand wander the Historic town, a stone’s throwfrom Alnwick castle. We then drive to Rothburywhere we have a quick stop, before visitingBelsay Hall, Castle & Gardens, regarded as thefirst British country house to be built new inGreek revival style. We return to the hotel for ourfinal evening.
After breakfast we leave our hotel andhead for home.
