We depart and make our way to Preston and our hotel for the next 4 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast.
During Your stay
We head to Haverthwaite where we step back in time on a nostalgic journey aboard the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway’s Heritage Steam Train and enjoy the sights between the picturesque Leven Valley and Lakeside at the southern tip of Lake Windermere.We Explore the beauty of Lake Windermere on a Scenic Cruise. We enjoy magnificent views of mountain scenery, secluded bays, and many wooded islands as we cruiseEngland’s largest lake.Bowness-on-Windermere, a charming enclave on the eastern shores of the lake, where we enjoy free time in this bustling town with its craft and gift shops, lakeside cafés and tea rooms.W e head to the Historic Town of Skipton. Known as the ‘Gateway to the Dales’, Skipton also has a grand medieval castle as its centrepiece. We embark on a Narrowboat Cruise of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. As we gently cruise through the beautiful Yorkshire scenery, a hilarious recorded commentary by award-winning comedian Dave Spikey (of Phoenix Nights fame) tells us more about Skipton and the canal’s fascinating history.Please note: some rail and boat journeys may operate in reverse order. The Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway reserves the right to substitute the steam locomotive with an alternative diesel-powered locomotive without notice or refund.
