We travel to the South Coast and catch the ferry to the Isle of Wight and on to our hotel in Shanklin where we enjoy 6 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast.
This morning we travel through‘Victorian Ventnor’ and on to Godshill, with a14th century church, a delightful model villageand famous thatched cottages. Take lunch and aleisurely stroll before returning to Shanklin.
Time to relax and explore Shanklin. Youmust see its golden beach and seafront, the oldvillage with its thatched cottages and olde worldecraft shops.
This morning we drive to Ryde,another of the island’s pretty seaside towns, withsix miles of beautiful sandy beach, a pier andsome fascinating streets full of individual littleshops. We later enjoy a scenic tour of West Wightbefore returning to Shanklin for some last minuteshopping or sightseeing.
Today we take you to Cowes, theprincipal port of the Island, perhaps best knownas the world’s premier yachting centre. Ampletime is allowed in Cowes for lunch and a wanderalong the famous Parade with its panoramicviews of the Solent. We continue to OsborneHouse, the island residence of Queen Victoria andPrince Albert. The house has many of the originaltreasures, giving a vivid glimpse of the RoyalFamily’s life. We also see Whippingham Church,the place where the Royals worshipped.
Enjoy a full day island tour. The scenery isconstantly changing as we visit Yarmouth, AlumBay with its coloured sands, the Needles andFreshwater Bay.
Our return journey takes us back overthe Solent to arrive home in the early evening.
