We travel to the South Coast and catch the ferry to the Isle of Wight and on to our hotel in Shanklin where we enjoy 6 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast.
Today we take you to Cowes, the principal port of the island, perhaps best known as the worlds premier yachtingcentre. Ample time is allowed in Cowes for lunch and a wander along the famous parade with its panoramic views of the Solent. We continueto Osborne House, the island residence of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The house has many of original treasures,giving a vivid glimpse of the Royal Familys life. We also see Whippingham Church, the place where the Royals worshipped.
This morning we travel through 'Victorian Ventor' and on to Godshill, with a 14th century church, a delightful model village and famous thatched cottages. Take a lunch and a leisurely stroll before returning to Shanklin.
Time to relax and explore Shanklin. You must see its golden beachand seafront, the old village with its thatched cottages and olde worlde craft shops.
This morning we drive to Ryde, another of the islands pretty seaside towns, with six miles of beautful sandy beach, a pier and some fascinating streets full of indiviudal little shops. We later enjoy a scenic tour of West Wight before retuning to Shankllin
Enjoy a full day island tour. The scenery isconstantly changing as we visit Yarmouth, AlumBay with its coloured sands, the Needles andFreshwater Bay.
Our return journey takes us back overthe Solent to arrive home in the early evening.
The Shanklin Hotel commands a premier
