We depart and make our way toHeysham for the afternoon sailing to the Isleof Man. On arrival we continue to Douglas andour hotel for the next 4 nights with dinner,bed and breakfast
Our excursion today takes us firstto Laxey, home of the famous ‘Lady Isabella’water wheel, and the Laxey Woollen Mill.We return to Douglas for a free afternoon toexplore this delightful town.
We enjoy a full day tour aroundthe island firstly visiting Ramsey then Bride,final resting place of the great comedianand Manx resident Norman Wisdom beforespending time in Peel with its small harbourand ancient castle, then St Johns, home of theancient Manx parliament. Our return includesthe lofty South Barrule road.
We visit the south of the islandtoday – first stop is Castletown, the island’sformer capital, and then on to Cregneash, with stunning views of the Calf of Man. PortErin, its beautiful bay guarded by the bulk ofBradda Head, is our next stop and we end theday with a visit to Peel before returning viaUnion Mills, another famous TT landmark.
After breakfast we return to theharbour for the crossing to Heysham, thenonwards to the West Country.
The Empress Hotel is ideally located overlooking Douglas Bay, there is a
large conservatory which offers fantastic panoramic views. Hotel facilities include
a gym, sauna and steam room for guests to use. All bedrooms are en-suite with TV
and tea/coffee making facilities with some of the rooms offering sea views.
