We depart and make our way to theLake District arriving at your hotel lateafternoon for the next 4 nights stay with dinner,bed and breakfast.
Our day begins with a short drive intoKendal where we have time to explore andobtain lunch before our afternoon visit toWindermere village and the impressive LakelandStore, main outlet for the well-known supplier ofthings for house and home.
Today’s excursion takes us to theeastern fringes of Cumbria and the town ofSedbergh, England’s Book Town, for a shortbreak before we move on to Kirkby Stephen.A traditional market town of historic buildings,cobbled yards, quaint and interesting shops,ideally located in the beautiful Upper EdenValley. From here we continue on our way toAppleby, former county town of Westmorland,now part of Cumbria. We stay awhile in Applebybefore returning across the moors to Tebay andreturning to the hotel.
We head for Ulverston where youhave the opportunity to visit the superb Laureland Hardy Museum – a treat in store for fans ofStan and Ollie, legends of British comedy – Stanwas born in Ulverston, and the museum willbring back many memories. Today is market dayin Ulverston and you can browse the stalls andwe also have time for lunch before leaving andheading to the little village of Hawkshead for abreak before returning to our hotel.
After breakfast we depart and head forhome.
Damson Dene Hotel
Tucked away in the tranquil Lyth Valley close
