We depart and make our way toScotland arriving late afternoon at our hotel for4 nights stay with dinner, bed and breakfast andtea/coffee and shortbread biscuits served onarrival. During your stay hotel entertainment isprovided on 2 evenings – 1 quiz and 1 bingo.
Today’s excursion takes us alongSolway’s secret coast, to the fishing port ofKirkcudbright, stopping at Sweetheart Abbeyalong the way and continuing to Newton Stewartfor our lunch stop. We travel through scenicGalloway Forest Park and New Galloway toDumfries & Gretna.
Our day covers the scenic ScottishBorders Region. We begin with a drive to Hawickfor a break and then continuing via Galashiels tothe town of Peebles, where we have some freetime to look round. Our return takes us viaTweeddale to Moffat, famed for its connectionswith the wool trade, Lochmaben and Annan.
Today we head for Longtown and drivealong Liddesdale as we make our way topicturesque Kielder Water and Forest Park. Herewe enjoy a cruise on the lake before we continueto Bellingham and Hexham, dominated by theAbbey overlooking the market square. Thisafternoon we return along the path of Hadrian’sWall, which stretched some 76 miles from theTyne to the Solway.
After breakfast we leave and begin ourhomeward journey
