We depart and make our way north toarrive at our hotel where we enjoy the next 4nights stay with dinner, bed and breakfast.
We head to Aberfoyle and theTrossachs where we enjoy a cruise on board the‘Sir Walter Scott’ along beautiful Loch Katrinewhilst listening to the tales and legends of theloch narrated by a crew member. Later wecontinue through Rob Roy MacGregor country toCallander and historic Stirling with its famouscastle.
Our day begins with a visit to Falkirkwhere we have a ride on the restored FalkirkWheel, a superb feat of engineering and afascinating experience. This afternoon we headto Edinburgh with a glorious cruise taking youunder the third new bridge which opened in2017. The cruise takes us into the Firth towardsInchcolm Island to see varied wildlife andlandscapes.
Following 20 miles of Loch Lomondshoreline, we stop in the ancient town ofInveraray, on the shores of Loch Fyne, a townsteeped in maritime history with its castledominating the skyline. Later a drive along LochLong and Gare Loch, with a stop in Helensburgh,bringing the Firth of Clyde into view beforereturning via the cityscapes of Glasgow.
Sadly we must bid farewell and departafter breakfast making our way back to theWest Country.
Buchanan Arms Hotel
The Buchanan Arms Hotel is centrally located in
the conservation village of Drymen near Loch Lomond.
