Today we travel through spectacularscenery as we head for Scotland’s Far Northand The Norseman Hotel for the next 3 nightswith dinner, bed and breakfast.
The highlight of the holiday as we takethe ferry from Scrabster to Stromness, Orkney,where we meet our local guide for a tour visitingthe World Heritage Sites of Skara Brae, Stones ofStenness and Ring of Brodgar, Skaill House andScapa Flow, followed by free time at leisure inKirkwall with the opportunity to view St Magnuscathedral. We return on the late afternoon ferryto Scrabster.
Today we head to the Castle andGardens of Mey, once the much adored home ofthe late Queen Mother, who saved it from ruin in1952. With glorious views across the PentlandFirth towards Orkney, the castle is kept as it waswhen the Queen Mother was in residence. Wecomplete the day by visiting the world famouslandmark John O’ Groats.
Leaving Castletown we retrace oursteps south past Inverness, Aviemore, theCairngorm Mountains and into Perthshire andthe ‘Fair City’ of Perth for the next 2 nights atthe Mercure Hotel with dinner, bed andbreakfast.
A free day for you to enjoy delightful Perth on the banks of the river Tay.
After breakfast we leave and head south for home.
