We depart and make our way toNorthumberland, arriving in the afternoon where weenjoy 4 nights stay with dinner, bed & breakfast withtea/coffee and biscuits served on arrival.
Today’s excursion takes us across thecauseway to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne whereyou can visit the castle (Entry extra) with its stunning views,explore the quaint shops and attractions of theisland and obtain lunch.Afterwards, we return to the mainland where wetravel to the village of Seahouses. Here we cansaunter along the bustling harbour of this colourfulfishing village and browse an Aladdin’s Cave ofshops in this popular seaside holiday resort.NOTE: The crossing of the causeway to Holy Islandis governed by tide times. It may be necessary toamend this excursion.
This morning we travel to Morpethwhere you can visit its weekly market, and explorethe historic market town and obtain lunch.Afterwards we travel via the pretty towns of Ambleand Warkworth to Alnwick where we will spend someof the afternoon to enjoy this beautiful market townand perhaps visit the Castle and Gardens, or maybeit’s Museum and Church.Afterwards we travel to the rural town of Rothburywhich is a peaceful haven offering a pleasant walkalong the river, or the opportunity to visit its range ofshops, pubs and tea rooms.
Our visit today is to Newcastle-Upon -Tynea complete contrast to Wednesday as we travel tothe beating heart of the City Centre. The city centrehas markets, shopping, museums and parks and youcan obtain lunch and enjoy the beautiful northernsurroundings.Alternatively you could visit the Great NorthMuseum or Newcastle Quayside, before we travelback for our final night at our luxurious hotel.
After breakfast we begin our journey home.
