We depart and travel to Cumbria for thenext 4 ngihts stay with dinner, bed and breakfast at the Shap Wells Hotel.
We drive across the Shap Fells toKendal for a morning break before continuing onto Windermere Village with its little shops for thelunch period. Heading over the rugged KirksonePass, with the lonely inn at the summit, we cometo Glenridding. Here you have a sail on the lake‘steamer’ along the lake to Pooley Bridge.
Today we travel via St John’s Valeand Lake Thirlmere to the lovely Lakes village ofGrasmere where we take a break. Grasmere wasthe home of William Wordsworth and otherartists. Sample some gingerbread from the localshop before we head for Ambleside where we jointhe lake steamer for another delightful cruisealong Lake Windermere to Lakeside. Here we jointhe Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway for anostalgic steam ride to round off the day.
Today we head to Keswick where youhave time to explore before this afternoons scenic journey along the shores of Derwent Water to Ashness Bridge and Borrowdale, conmtinuing over Honister Pass to Buttermere village. After a break we pass Crummock Waterand Loweswateron our way to the Whinlatter Pass Visitor Centrefor a break before heading back to Keswick,rejoining the tour coach for the hotel.
After breakfast we head for home.
