We drive through southern Scotland and pass Glasgow. Then onto the shores of Loch Lomond and cross rugged and desolate rannoch Moor to arrive in Fort William in the late afternoon for the next four nights stay with dinner, bed and breakfast.
All aboard the Jacobite Steam Train for one of the world’s best train journeys a round trip of 84 miles to Mallaig. Follow in the footsteps of Harry Potter and the Hogwarts express. There are fantastic views of Ben Nevis and the journey takes us to Glenfinnian, over the famous 21- arch Horeshoe Viaduct, the picturesque sands of Morar before arriving at Mallaig, a pretty fishing port. There is time for lunch and a look around before we catch the return train to Fort William.
A day at leisure. enjoy Fort William’s dramatic setting on the shores of Loch Linnhe and nestling beneath Ben Nevis. The town’s West Highland Museum houses a collection of Jacobite memorabilia.
We head for Inverness today and Loch Ness with a chance to see if you can spot its famous resident. After free time in the Highland’s capital we drive to the shores of Loch Ness where we board a boat for a one hour circular cruise on the deepest section of the Loch with stunning views of the ruins of urquhart Castle.
Leaving the hotel after breakfast we drive south for our overnight stay in northern england with dinner, bed and breakfast
After breakfast we depart for home.
