We depart from your home area in themorning travelling to Derbyshire and arrivinglate afternoon where we enjoy 4 nights stay withdinner, bed & breakfast
A short distance from the hotel is Duffield.Here we join the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway fora 30 minutes ride through the Derbyshirecountryside to Wirksworth. Rejoining the coachwe head for Matlock where we take a break forlunch and have the chance to look around. Thisafternoon we make our way to the village ofCrich, home of the National Tramway Museum.The authentic village scene transports you backin time with cobbled streets and the gentlerumble of passing trams. The Tramway Streethosts many period features such as shops, icecream parlour, tea rooms and more. Catch alovingly restored tram for a ride down the streetand out into the Derbyshire countryside – yourticket includes unlimited rides
We head north to delightful Bakewell,home of the ‘Tart’. In Bakewell you can visit theOriginal Bakewell Pudding Shop and maybe try a slice of Pudding, to give it its correct name.Moving on we come to Buxton – the ‘Capital’ ofthe Peak District. A former Spa town, you canexplore the pedestrianised main street, visit thepleasant gardens, admire the historicarchitecture, obtain lunch before we leave in theafternoon and return to our hotel, with a stop atpicturesque Carsington Water on the way.
This morning we start with a drive toChesterfield, with the famous Crooked Spire ofSt Mary’s Church – how did it happen? We havethe chance to look around, browse the marketand obtain lunch. This afternoon we to visitChatsworth House, home of the Duke andDuchess of Devonshire. We visit the house,gardens, and after looking in the shop enjoy awell earned ‘cuppa’ in the tearoom. LeavingChatsworth we drive into the Peak District andreturn to the hotel
After breakfast we leave and depart forhome.
