Monday
We depart and make our way to ourhotel in East Anglia where we enjoy the next 4nights with dinner bed and breakfast.
Tuesday
• We discover the idyllic villages on our tour ofConstable Country, including the birthplaceof the famous painter at East Bergholt, anunspoilt village with many fine old housesand cottages. The church at Dedham, with its131ft tower, and the little hamlet of FlatfordMill, were favourite landscape subjects andyou can soak up these scenes of England atfirst hand.• We visit Mersea Island and West Mersea fora short break.• From Maldon’s Hythe Quay to Burnham onCrouch many smugglers tales abound.• Excursion to historic Bury St.Edmunds,famous for its Abbey Gardens and the AngelHotel, where Dickens had Mrs Pickwick stay.We have time to explore the town.• The pretty villages of Cavendish and Clare,with their pastel coloured cottages, totake a break in Lavenham, one of our bestpreserved medieval villages with its manycolourful and half-timbered houses.
Friday
After breakfast we leave and begin ourhomeward journey.
