We depart and make our way toLancashire, arriving late afternoon at ourhotel for the next 4 nights with dinner, bed &breakfast. Enjoy a glass of wine or fruit juicewith dinner each night.
We begin our day with a guided tourof the magnificent Samlesbury Hall, a halftimbered medieval house built in 1325 in thetraditional black and white. Later, we make ourway to Riley Green Marina to board our narrowboat for a cruise along the Leeds LiverpoolCanal which passes through lovely countryside,where you can enjoy Lancashire’s nature,wildlife and have a relaxing afternoon. Duringour cruise, we enjoy a taste of ‘LancashireFare’ with our two-course lunch on our light,airy & spacious boat where each table has apanoramic view of the canal.
Today, we travel to Bury withits world famous Bury Market and so manystalls to browse. Later on, we step back intime for a nostalgic trip on a steam train alongthe East Lancashire Railway through thebeautiful Lancashire countryside from Buryto Rawtenstall. Afterwards, we return to ourhotel where we enjoy a sumptuous Cream Teaconsisting of two scones, clotted cream, jam,butter, tea and coffee and time to relax beforedinner this evening.
We enjoy a scenic journey throughthe breath-taking Ribble Valley and our firstport of call is at the famous Oswaldtwistle Millsshopping village. The iconic former weaving millhas over 100 retailers under one roof, as well asrestaurants, ice cream parlour, craft centre, andeven a Textile and Heritage Museum. We thencontinue on our way to Gawthorpe Hall whichhouses the North West’s largest collection ofportraits as well as The Gawthorpe TextilesCollection, a wonderful collection of intricatelace, embroidery and needlework.
After breakfast we depart for home
