We depart and make our way toEast Anglia, arriving late afternoon at theMarks Tey Hotel for the next 4 nights withdinner, bed and breakfast with tea/coffee andbiscuits served on arrival.
After a leisurely morning we journeyto the north of Colchester and visit GreenIsland Gardens a superbly designed garden ina 20-acre site, featuring unusual plants andflowers. The tea room is an ideal place to endyour visit.
Today we drive to the village ofRettendon, near Chelmsford where we visitthe Royal Horticultural Society garden atHyde Hall. This 360 acre estate blends intothe surrounding farmlands and is a garden tobe enjoyed by all
y For our final outing we make ourway to historic Colchester for some freetime and the opportunity to obtain lunch.The oldest town in England boasts a wide“boulevard” as a main street, with manyinteresting pedestrian shopping malls andlanes with specialist shops. At one end of thestreet is beautiful Castle Park, complete withthe largest Norman Keep ever constructed.This afternoon we head for the Beth ChattoGardens.
After breakfast we depart for home
