Our first stop this morning is thepicturesque resort of Woolacombe with itssuperb beaches. After a break here we headfor the coastal town of Ilfracombe, with itswhitewashed houses and grand Victorianvillas where the town maintains the aura of atraditional seaside resort

Tuesday
Today is Market Day in Barnstapleand we have the day free to explore thetown with its elegant Georgian buildings.Barnstaple, on a crook of land between therivers Taw and Yeo, retains the charms of itsancient origins and at its heart is the splendidtown hall building. The High Street is partlypedestrianised and the Pannier Market withits great canopied roof is a focal point

Wednesday
This morning we are off on a fullday out to North Cornwall and the popularresort of Bude. We make our way through Bideford and past Clovelly onto the ‘AtlanticHighway’ which runs way down into SouthCornwall. Bude has a history of smugglers andin the 19th century the town was notoriousfor the ‘Wreckers’ who plundered the shipsthat came to grief off the coast.

Thursday
After breakfast we departfor home.
