We depart for Dover and the ferry toFrance for our overnight stop in Metz, where weenjoy bed and breakfast.
We journey through some changingscenery as we travel south to our hotel in theAustrian Lakes District and here we will enjoy6 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast.
Today we board the Attergau narrowgauge railway in St. Georgen and travel alongthis romantic route which has excellentpanoramic views of the surrounding KalkalpenMountains. We arrive in Attersee where you willboard a boat which will take you on a round tripof the lake. We will then enjoy some free time atLake Attersee before returning to St. Georgen bytrain.
An early start for our visit to the CzechRepublic. With a guided tour of the UNESCOheritage site of Cesky Krumlov where this statecastle with its architecture, cultural traditionand size, ranks amongst the most importanthistoric sites of the central European region.
Today we enjoy a day out to the‘Sound of Music’ city, Salzburg, where you can visit the mighty fortress of Hohensalzburg orrelax in the Mirabell Gardens.
Our excursion today is Vienna, afascinating city, resplendent with fine palacesand churches dating from the time of theHabsburg Empire. Dominating the city centre isSt. Stephen’s cathedral from where you canbegin your exploration of the city.
After a relaxing breakfast we travel tothe town of St. Gilgen, birth place of Mozart’smother. After some free time we then take theboat across the lake to the town of St.Wolfgang, famous for the White Horse Inn.After some free time we end our day with a visitto Mondsee where the wedding scene from thefilm “the Sound of Music” was filmed.
Our varied travels come to an endtoday as we make our way back to Metz for ourfinal overnight with bed and breakfast.
We journey home via Calais and Dover.
