We depart and make our way north tothe Scottish borders and our overnight stay withdinner, bed and breakfast.
We continue across the southwest ofScotland to Cairnryan. Here we take theafternoon Stena Line sailing to Belfast andcontinue to our hotel for the next 4 nights staywith dinner, bed and breakfast.
Today we explore Belfast, a modernand vibrant city with a fascinating heritage. Weinclude a guided tour through the city’s‘Quarters’, taking in all the historic landmarks.There is also the opportunity to visit TitanicBelfast (extra) and discover everything aboutthe ill-fated ship.
The Antrim Coast is our destination,considered by many to be one of the mostimpressive scenic drives in the world. We visit theWorld Heritage Site of the Giant’s Causewayand spend time in the visitor centre to discoverthe ‘Giant’ Finn McCool and learn about thehistory & legend of the Causeway
A delightful excursion takes usthrough the Mountains of Mourne and CountyDown, long associated with St Patrick. We stopat the Visitor Centre in Downpatrick and thenfollow the pretty coastline to Ardglass andNewcastle, a popular seaside resort in theshadow of Slieve Donard. The shorelinemeanders to Rostrevor, where the Mountains ofMourne sweep down to the sea.
We leave the hotel after breakfast andreturn to the port to catch the sailing back to theScottish mainland, continuing to our overnightstop in the Carlisle region with dinner, bed andbreakfast
Leaving the hotel we continue on ourway home to the West Country.
