Follow the cycle path that takes you all the way along the seafront, and up the beautiful Exe Estuary Trail to the picture-postcard village of Lympstone and beyond. Hire a bike in the town, there's plenty of choice. We are also part of the fabulous South West Coast Path, 630 miles of coastline from North Somerset to mid Dorset. There is the amazing Exe Estuary, home to numerous amounts of wildlife and a real favourite for birdwatchers, as featured on the BBC Autumn Watch. Or take a short trip out of town and explore the fantastic Devon countyside of Woodbury Common, with views across to Sidmouth then across the Exe and even to the far distant Somerset levels. The iron-age fort is a magical location, steeped in ancient history.
